I have to say Sara Jessica Parker was far the best dress of the night, wearing a sumptuous Oscar de la Renta ball gown with a black bodice and flowing white skirt, with a gridlike pattern on the back. In a dramatic flourish, the back hem of the skirt was emblazoned with the designer's name.
Hollywood has its Oscars each Winter, but the fashion community must wait for Wintour for its ultimate night of glamour. And nothing announces Spring's annual arrival like the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Old style glamour, especially in black and white, ruled the night of Hollywood. Last years Met Gala theme was punk, this year the theme was black-tie.
Taylor Swift stayed true to the theme for this years Met Gala, as she wore a pale pink satin custom Oscar de la Renta gown. The strapless column gown was beautiful from the front; it was positively stunning from the back. It was princess dress with matte god sequins, pearl beads, rose gold metallic threadwork leaves, and organza petal embroidery.
Anne Hathaway has changed up her look many times at the Met Gala, after wearing Valentino two years in a row; Anne went red in Calvin Klein.
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were the best couple of the night. Black wore a custom Gucci gown with a plunging neckline, while Ryan sported a made-to-order blue velvet tuxedo, also by Gucci.
